Ten was raised in Bangkok, alongside his three years junior sister Tern Kulisara Leechaiyapornkul who has grown up to become a designer, by their father who is the owner of his own small grocery store, and their mother who is working as a nurse at a local hospital.

At the age of 14, Ten competed in the singing show “Teen Superstar”, winning it and getting an opportunity to sign with a South Korean company, Starship Entertainment, however, as he was too young, he made a deal with his parents to continue his education and to focus on singing later. He attended Shrewsbury International School, and after he matriculated in 2013 decided to focus on his singing career, and signed a contract with SM Entertainment.

Career as a singer

In December 2013, he became a member of the rookie group SM Rookies, and several months later he joined the show “Exo 90:2014”, together with his future group members, in which they remade and sang K-pop hits from the ‘90s.

In 2016, SM Entertainment announced that Ten would be one of the boys who would be a member of the first sub-group of the group NCT – called NCT U – and their debut single “The 7th Sense” was released in April before the boys were invited to perform in the show “Hit the Stage” created by Mnet. At the beginning of 2017, Ten was invited to appear in the SBS show “Elementary School Teacher”, which follows film and music stars as they improve their South Korean language, and learn about South Korean culture. It was announced on 24 March 2017 that Ten would also work on his solo career, and his debut single “Dream in a Dream” came out on 7 April ,while on the same day, Ten was made a member of the dance project group SM The Performance.

His new single “New Heroes” came out on 6 April 2018, and was a huge success as it reached #4 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales, while his song “Dream in a Dream” was eventually featured on the NCT’s first full-length album called “NCT 2018 Empathy”. Two weeks later, NCT U released their song “Baby Don’t Stop”, and Ten went on to appear in the TV show “Black On Black”, together with several of his NCT U group members.

It was announced on 31 December 2018 that Ten would become a member of the Chinese boy group WayV, which was formed by SM Entertainment and is widely believed to be a sub-unit of NCT.

It was made up of Ten, Kun, Winwin, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery and YangYang, and the boys debuted with their extended play (EP) “The Vision”, on 17 January 2019 while the lead single of the EP was the Chinese version of the NCT 127’s song “Regular”. It was revealed on 8 August that Ten and his friends from various bands such as Shinee, EXO and NCT 127, would be joining together to create a K-pop supergroup called SuperM as a collaboration between Capitol Records and SM Entertainment – their first extended play entitled “SuperM” came out on October 4 2019 and they ranked #1 on Billboard 200 which this huge success was followed by the boys’ tour around Europe and North America.

Love life and girlfriend

Ten is very secretive when it comes to his love life because SM Entertainment just as many other South Korean entertainment companies do not allow their rookie artist to date because this would have a bad effect on their groups’ popularity because most of the boys’ and girls’ fans are also in love with them. It is widely believed that Ten was in a relationship with his high school sweetheart before he joined NCT U and that they then split after a year of dating because it was a pre-condition for Ten to join the band.

Ten hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
