Vivi (LOONA) Bio
Wong ‘Vivi’ Gaahei was born in Hong Kong, China, on 9 December 1996 – she was born in the year of the Rat under the fire element, her zodiac sign is Sagittarius and she holds Chinese nationality. She is a singer, probably best known for being a member of the girl group LOONA.

Early life, family and education
Vivi was raised as an only child in Hong Kong by her family, which consists of her father who is a factory worker and her mother who is working at a pharmacy. Vivi fell in love with singing at a very early age after watching K-pop groups perform on TV, while she also dreamed about becoming an actress one day.
She was active while attending high school, as she was playing several sports, was a member of the school’s drama club and was taking part in any activity or event organized by the school. She matriculated in 2014 and told her parents she wanted to move to South Korea to work on her singing career – they weren’t very supportive at first but eventually allowed her to pursue her dreams.
Vivi hasn’t attended college and isn’t planning to.
Career as a singer and the group LOONA
It was announced by Blockberry Creative on 2 October 2016 that it would be launching a new girl group, and the first four members were introduced by January 2017 – Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul and Yeojin.
All four members had to release a solo single as well as a second song featuring at least one of the other girls under ‘Idarui Sonyeo’, the group’s Korean name which means ‘Girl of the Month’. The four girls then debuted as the first LOONA’s sub-unit 1/3 with their first extended play (EP) “Love & Live” and its eponymous lead single. To promote the EP, they sang in the show “Inkigayo”, and on 27 April, the repackaged version of the EP was released entitled “Love & Evil”.
By July 2017, four new girls had joined LOONA: Vivi, Choerry, Jinsoul and Kim Lip, and they all released their solo singles as well as their songs which feature at least one group member.
Before they debuted, three girls Haseul, Hyunjin and Heejin, auditioned for the music show “Mix Nine”, with Heejin and Hyunjin passing the audition and eventually ranking #4 and top 18 respectively. The four new girls debuted as LOONA’s second sub-unit Loona Odd Eye Circle on 21 September with the release of their debut EP “Mix & Match” and its lead single “Loonatic” – the EP was promoted in the music show “M Countdown” and its repackaged version “Max & Match” came out on 31 October.
By March 2018, four new girls were welcomed in LOONA named Olivia Hye, Go Won, Chuu and Yves, who released their required songs and debuted as LOONA’s third sub-unit Loona yyxy on 30 May 2018 with the release of their first EP “Beauty & the Beat” and its lead single “love4eva”.
On 7 August 2018, LOONA released a pre-debut song “favOriTe” announcing that all the girls from all three sub-units were getting ready to debut as LOONA.
They debuted on 20 August 2018 with the release of their first EP “[+ +]” (“plus plus”) and its lead single “Hi High”, and on 19 February 2019, the repackaged version of the EP was released entitled “[X X]” (“multiple multiple”) with six new songs including its new lead track “Butterfly”. On 17 August, the girls performed in the USA at KCON Los Angeles for the first time and on 13 December, they released their new single “365” written to show appreciation for their fans.
It was announced by Blockberry Creative on 7 January 2020 that Haseul had mental health problems, being diagnosed with anxiety and that she would take a break from performing with the group.
On 5 February, the girls released their new EP “[#]” (“hash”) with its lead single “So What”, and most recently on 12 March 2020, they earned their first show victory when they competed in the music program “M Countdown” with their song “So What”.
LOONA has won six awards and has been nominated for numerous others. They received their first award in 2018 – an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Korean Act – and it was followed by a Soribada Best K-Music Award for Performance, an MTN Ad Festival Award for Commercial Star Rookie and a Korea First Brand Award for Most Anticipated Female Rookie Idol in 2019. Most recently, the girls won two Asia Artist Awards for Popularity (Girl Group) and Focus (Singer).
Love life and relationships
Vivi hasn’t talked about the boys she might have dated since the launch of her singing career, and this is believed to be because her agency has put a dating ban on her as well as on the other LOONA girls. It is widely known that K-pop agencies don’t usually allow their rookie artists to date, and just recently the boy group Pentagon’s agency Cube Entertainment ended the group’s member E’Dawn’s contract because he was in a relationship with Hyuna from the girl group Wonder Girls, whose contract was also terminated.
It is believed by many Vivi’s fans that she is currently secretly seeing a mysterious boy, as the two were allegedly seen by several of her fans while they were spending time together in Seoul, South Korea.
Vivi hasn’t commented on the rumors.
As of August 2020, she is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
One of Vivi’s main hobbies is modelling – she was noticed by a modelling scout when she was 17 years old, and was invited to attend her first audition. She passed the audition, launching her modelling career, and has been modeling to this day.
She is keen on eating tasty food, with chicken being her favorite while some of the other foods she likes to eat are bibimbap, bulgogi and fish cake – she also loves sweets, and her favorite is chocolate cake. Travelling is one of her main hobbies and she has been to several European countries including Spain and Italy, and has also been to the US on several occasions visiting states such as New York and California.
She likes to cook for both herself and her group members, because she is good at it and likes to receive good critiques.
In her spare time, Vivi likes to watch Hollywood movies, and her favorite actor and actress are Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, while two of her favorite movies are “Dear John” and “The Notebook”.

Vivi’s age is 23. She has dyed her hair pink while her original hair color is brown, her eyes are brown as well. Her height is 5ft 3ins (1.6m) while she weighs around 100lbs (46kgs).
As of August 2020, her net worth has been estimated at around $200,000.
