Who is Kpop rapper Punchnello?
Lee ‘Punchnello’ Young-sin was born in Seoul, South Korea on 28 May 1997 – his zodiac sign is Gemini and he holds South Korean nationality. He is a rapper, perhaps best known for winning the reality competition show “Show Me the Money 8” in 2019 for which he was awarded a brand new Chevrolet Blazer and ₩200,000,000 (approximately $170,000).

Childhood and education
Punchnello was raised an only child in Seoul by his father who holds a college degree in marketing, and his mother who is also a well-educated woman and a holder of a university degree – both his parents wanted Punchnello to graduate from college and find a well-paid job, but they also supported his decision to pursue a career as a rapper.
Punchnello became interested in rapping while attending seventh grade, he watched rappers perform before that on TV, but what attracted him to rap music was seeing his peers rap at school.
He began attending rap battles while in high school, but was also interested in soccer and played for the school team. He matriculated in 2015, and then chose to focus on his career as a musician rather than to enroll at a college, however, Punchnello would spend the next four years working several jobs to financially support himself, before he was able to make any money as a rapper.
Rapping career
He launched his rapping career in 2016 when he released his debut single “Corona” in collaboration with the rapper Crush, and his second single “Worth It” featuring Hoody followed not long after.
In the same year, he collaborated on Eddy Kim’s non-album single “2night”.
On 30 June 2017, Punchnello began competing in the show “Show Me the Money 6”, but withdrew from competition before it ended due to unknown reasons, but it’s widely believed that he had personal issues that year, because he released only one single in entitled “Detox” which failed to chart. However, he did collaborate with Sleepy, Hash Swan, Olltii, Penomeco, Black Nine, Dok2 and Ignito on their song “S.M.T.M (Show Me the Money)” which peaked at #82 on the Gaon Music Chart.
Punchnello didn’t upload any new content in 2018, until on 28 January 2019 he released his one and only extended play (EP) entitled “Ordinary” under the AOMG record label, which peaked at #45 on the Gaon Album Chart – the song “Blue Hawaii” served as its lead single and Punchnello performed it with Crush and Penomeco. He went on to release his single “23” featuring Sam Kim, as well as another single “Magma” with Hangzoo and Behwy. In the second half of 2019, he released his the single “Jungle”, featuring Penomeco and Sam Kim and which served as the original soundtrack (OST) for “Show Me the Money 8”.
The end of 2019 saw the release of his single “Doodle”, which featured Baek Ye-rin and peaked at #84 on the Gaon Digital Chart.
Most recently, Punchnello has collaborated with Jjangyou, Zene the Zilla and Mckdaddy on their song “BAMN”, which rose to #77 on the Gaon Digital Chart, and he also collaborated with Donutman on his single “Comfortable”.
Love life and relationships
Punchnello has been keeping details of his love life hidden from the media’s attention, but it’s known that he has been in a relationship with a mysterious girl for over a year now. He has uploaded pictures with the girl onto both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, and has written ‘Us’ in the captions.
According to the rumors, they met at a party when they were introduced by a mutual friend, and started dating several months later after running into each other at another party – they have been together since and seen by Punchnello’s fans on multiple occasions, including while they were eating in Seoul restaurants or drinking at local bars.
As of August 2020, Punchnello is in a relationship with a mysterious girl, he hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Punchnello is close to several other rappers, including Crush, OFFONOFF and Chek Parren, and the four together with Dean, Millic and Jusen, have created the crew Club Eskimo.
