Kim ‘Seola’ Hyun Jung was born in Seoul, South Korea on 24 December 1994 – her zodiac sign is Capricorn and she holds South Korean nationality. She is a singer and a dancer, probably best known for being a member of the girl group WJSN.

Early life and education
Seola was raised alongside her older sister in Seoul by their mother who is a piano teacher, and their father who is a factory worker. While attending third grade, Seola’s teacher heard her sing and encouraged her to practice her vocal skills.
She went on to sing in several schools plays, and upon completing her elementary education, Seola enrolled at a school for the performing arts at which she was focused on singing, but also practiced dancing, rapping and acting. She was noticed by a scout working for Starship Entertainment in 2009, who invited her to attend their audition, and after passing it Seola became their trainee.
She matriculated from high school in 2014, and then chose to focus on singing rather than to pursue a college degree.
Seola’s singing career and the group WJSN
It was announced by Yuehua Entertainment and Starship Entertainment on 4 December 2015 that they had created the new 12-girl group Cosmic Girls (WJSN), which would be divided into sub-units based on whether the girls sang in Korean or Chinese. The first, Wonder Unit was announced on 10 December, and its three members were Dayoung, Bona and Cheng Xiao; the first song they released was a cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.
The second WJSN’s sub-unit Joy was announced on 17 December 2015 and its three members Yeoreum, Eunseo and Xuan Yi.
Sweet Unit was announced on 24 December 2015 made up of three girls Soobin, Exy and Seola, and Natural Unit on 31 December 2015 comprising Dawon, Luda and Mei Qi.
The girls debuted all together on 25 February 2016, when their first extended play (EP) came out entitled “Would You Like?”, with songs such as “Catch Me” and “Mo Mo Mo”, which they then performed in the music show “M Countdown”. It was announced on 11 July 2016 that Yoo Yeon-jung would become a new member of WJSN, after her former group I.O.I disbanded, and a new unit made up of seven girls including Seola was formed in August 2016, called Y-Teen.
On 17 August 2016, WJSN’s second EP entitled “The Secret” came out, followed by their third EP on 4 January 2017, entitled “From. WJSN” with six songs including its lead single “I Wish”. On 19 and 20 May, the girls performed in their first solo concert held at the Blue Square Samsung Card Hall, and called “Would You Like – Happy Moment” and they attracted around 2,000 people on both days combined. On 7 June, their debut full-length album was released entitled “Happy Moment”, and it counted ten songs including the title track “Happy” – it reached the top spot on the Hanteo Daily Chart.
WJSN’s fourth EP was released on 27 February 2018, entitled “Dream Your Dream” with six songs, with the track “Dreams Come True” as its lead single, and to promote the EP, the girls sang at a showcase held at Seoul’s Yes24 Live Hall. On 1 June 2018, WJSN started collaborating with the girl group Weki Meki on the project WJMK and they released a single together called “Strong”.
In March 2018, two WJSN members, Xuan Yi and Mei Qi entered the reality competition show “Produce 101”, and ranked #2 and #1 respectively, thus becoming members of the Chinese idol group Rocket Girls 101, but which disbanded on 23 June 2020.
WJSN’s new EP came out on 19 September 2018 entitled “WJ Please?” and on 2 October, they competed in the music program “The Show”, marking their first show victory.
Their sixth EP was released on 8 January 2019 called “WJ Stay?”, comprising seven songs including the title track “La La Love”. Their second solo concert was held at the Blue Square Imarket Hall on 2 March, called “Would You Stay – Secret Box”, and on 4 June, the girls’ special album made up of five songs was released, entitled “For the Summer”.
WJSN embarked on their first tour on 17 August called “WJSN 1st Mini Live 2019 “Would You Like?” Zepp Tour in Japan”, and the launch was performed at Tokyo’s Zepp DiverCity. On 19 November, their new EP came out entitled “As You Wish”, made up of seven songs while the eponymous song served as its lead single.
On 22 February 2020, the girls started the concert tour “WJSN Concert Obliviate” at Seoul’s Olympic Hall, and it ended at Tokyo’s Toyosu PIT on 22 March. Most recently on 9 June 2020, they released their eighth EP “Neverland”, with its lead single “Butterfly”.
Love life and relationships
Seola hasn’t commented on any boys she might have dated since the launch of her career, and this is believed to be due to a dating ban her agency has put on all the WJSN girls. There are rumors circulating the internet that she and her high school sweetheart once dated for around two years before she decided to break-up because of her singing career, however, Seola hasn’t commented on this, although many of her fans have asked her about it.
She has talked about her ideal type of a man, and that he would have to earn enough money for both of them, give her the attention she needs, and be handsome.

Seola has also said that she wouldn’t marry a man who doesn’t have a house.
Hobbies and interests
Seola is interested in acting, and launched her acting career in 2017 when she played a supporting character in the web series “Good Morning Double-Decker Bus”.
She loves to eat sweets, and her favorites are jelly bears.
She is keen on watching Hollywood movies, and her favorite actor and actress are Matt Damon and Natalie Portman, while her two favorite movies are “Good Will Hunting” and “V for Vendetta”.
When she is sad, she sings as this always cheers her up or she looks at herself in the mirror as she believes she is one of the prettiest girls in the world – when asked about whom would she would date if she were a boy, she stated she would date herself.
One of her main jokes is to grab her WJSN friends’ butts and as she has already grabbed each one of these at least once, Seola has determined that her favorite butt is Exy’s.
Seola has an irrational fear of water, called aquaphobia.

Seola’s age is 25. She has brown hair and her eyes are brown as well. Her height is 5ft 5ins (1.65m) and she weighs around 100lbs (45kgs).
As of August 2020, her net worth has been estimated at over $150,000.
