Who is HeeJin (LOONA)?
Jeon Heejin was born in Seongnam, South Korea, on 19 October 2000 – her zodiac sign is Libra and she holds South Korean nationality. She is a singer and a dancer perhaps best known for being a member of the girl group LOONA.

Early life, family and education
Heejin was raised in Seongnam alongside her two older sisters, by their father who is the owner of his own small grocery store, and their mother who works at the very store – the girls’ parents spent most of their time working, thus Heejin was often looked after by her sisters.
The family was rather poor, and as they lived in the countryside, Heejin barely had the money to attend the dancing academy which she began going to when she was around 10 years old.
She continued to pursue her dream of becoming a famous singer and dancer, and focused more on dancing and singing rather than on formal education, which is why after she matriculated from high school in 2018, Heejin didn’t enroll at a college but chose to work on her singing career, and to focus on her group LOONA.
Career as a singer and the group LOONA
On 2 October 2016 it was announced by Blockberry Creative that it would be creating a new girl group which would make its official debut in 2017 –the group’s name would be Idarui Sonyeo, or in English LOONA. In October 2016, Heejin was introduced as the first member, while Hyunjin, Haseul and Yeojin were introduced by January 2017. Each of the girls had to release their solo song, as well as a song performed with other members of the group.
LOONA’s first sub-unit Loona 1/3 debuted on 13 March 2017 with the release of their first extended play (EP) “Love & Live”, and ViVi was then introduced as the fourth member of the sub-unit – the EP was promoted in the music show “Inkigayo” which aired on SBS, and on 27 April, the repackaged version of the album “Love & Evil” was released.
In April 2017, three new members of LOONA were introduced – Kim Lip, Choerry and Jinsoul. In September, Haseul, Hyunjin and Heejin auditioned to appear in the reality program “Mix Nine”, with Heejin and Hyunjin passing the audition – Heejin went on to rank #4 while Hyunjin placed in the top 18.
LOONA’s second sub-unit – Loona Odd Eye Circle (Kim Lip, Choerry and Jinsoul) – debuted on 21 September 2017 with the release of their debut EP “Mix & Match”, and the girls promoted the EP in the music show “M Countdown”, before the EP’s repackaged version, “Max & Match” came out on 31 October.
In November 2017, three new LOONA members were introduced: Yves, Go Won and Chuu, while Olivia Hye was introduced in March 2018.
The four girls debuted as LOONA’s third sub-unit – Loona yyxy on 30 May 2018, with their EP “Beauty & the Beat” and its lead single “love4eva”, which featured the Canadian singer Grimes. On 7 August 2018, all girls together released the pre-debut song “favOriTe” as an announcement that they would all join in to sing as the group LOONA.
On 20 August 2018, LOONA debuted with their EP “[+ +]” (“plus plus”), with the song “Hi High” as the lead single – the repackaged version of the EP came out on 19 February 2019 entitled “[X X]” (“multiple multiple”), counting six new songs.
The girls sang in the US for the first time on 17 August 2019 at KCON Los Angeles (California), and to mark the end of the year 2019, they released their new song “365” which was their way of saying ‘thank you’ to their fans.
It was announced in January 2020 by Blockberry Creative that Haseul, the leader of the group, was diagnosed with intermittent anxiety symptoms and wouldn’t be taking part in promoting LOONA’s new EP “[#]” which came out on 5 February, together with its lead single “So What”.
Most recently, on 12 March 2020 the girls competed in the show “M Countdown”, winning it with their single “So What”.
Love life and boyfriend
Heejin hasn’t commented on any boys she might have dated since she debuted with LOONA, and while some believe that this is due to her being too young to date, others claim that it’s because her agency has put a dating ban on her and her LOONA colleagues, just as most K-pop agencies do nowadays. The girls also aren’t allowed to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol or undergo plastic surgery.
There are still rumors circulating the internet that Heejin was once in a relationship with her high school sweetheart, and that the two were together for around a year before splitting ways shortly before her debut with LOONA. Rumors suggest that this has been her only relationship to date.
Heejin has talked about her ideal type of man, stating how he would have to be taller than her, be interested in sports, and be funny. As of August 2020, Heejin is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Heejin is a huge lover of animals, and her favorites are rabbits.
She likes to go shopping for clothes, and her favorite color is pink.
Heejin likes to eat and taste various cuisines, and mostly enjoys eating late at night – her favorite food to eat late is spicy rice cake.
She is physically active, as she and her friends from LOONA all have workout sessions at the gym each week, and although Heejin likes to exercise, she doesn’t like to go hiking which is one of the activities that LOONA occasionally organizes.
Summer is her favorite season as she enjoys sun tanning her skin and swimming in the ocean.
Heejin knows how to play the guitar.
Some of Heejin’s hobbies include playing Sudoku, eating at new restaurants to determine which one is her favorite, and practicing calligraphy. Things she dislikes include cigarettes, birds and messy people.
